OK, so the steaming plan "says" 76084 Mon-Wed and 1744 Thu-Fri.... but please take it in the way it's intended i.e. just a plan/indication, as reality can often turn out very different!

Haven’t seen the B12 in steam for two years. Beautiful.

I do like the B12, shame I don't have a mantelpiece big enough to put it on!

I've never quite worked out if my fondness for the B12 is a result of it's amazing survival (we collectively owe much to the late Bill Harvey), or merely a result of sticking graphite '3in1' in my OO gauge one's chimney, where the Hornby 'smoke oil' was supposed to go, during my first childhood. :)

Or maybe that lovely Apple Green livery? It really is a work of art.

That's a likely reason too ..... though the B12's lines meant they even looked OK in BR MT livery .... when clean, at any rate.

The original incarnation (the one with a Belpaire pattern firebox and all the fancy fretwork on the valances) must've looked simply stunning in it's full Holden era GER finery. I'm a tad surprised no-one's suggested one in "Current & Proposed New Builds" yet. Perhaps something to do with the apparently still glacial progress of D16/2 Phœnix. Now, if/when that project reaches the dizzy heights of a 'tipping point' ..........

Such a shame Mr Harvey never saw the B12 steam again. But at least he did see the J15 in action (and drove it on a number of occasions).

In fact how many of the locomotives that were under Mr Harvey's care in BR days have survived?

I'm guessing the two Britannias, the B12 and J15/Y14, and the NRM J17.

Pure WIBN but imagine them all lined up at Weybourne in BR colours and 32A shed plates.

(As I said pure WIBN, I'm sure if anyone suggested repainting the B12 and Y14 in to BR black to the people at Weybourne they'd be chased away with burning torches).

    43106 wasn’t a Norwich loco? Or am I wrong?

It was allocated to Woodford Halse (2F) by Nov 1961 but I believe that it still had its M&GN tablet catcher on when it came to its last shed, Lostock Hall.

This week has seen the out-shopping of the unique Gresley Quad Art set following an intermediate overhaul:

C&W News - LNER Quad Art Completion Special

It seems remarkable that it is already ten years ago since this set was raised from the dead and re-launched following its lottery funded restoration!

The B12, Y14 and Quad Art coaches really are what set the NNR apart from other lines in my humble opinion.

Wonderful thumbnail history of them in that post; thanks for taking the time to do that, it is much appreciated.
