For the line-bashing value of parts of the route, I'm on this. I have wanted to tick off Doncaster-Lincoln for a while, whilst there is the bonus of a run through Gospel Oak, which is another piece of winning track. Despite having done it behind 46233 in 2016, the relative rarity of a run through Knottingley is another welcome bonus. Very much an ECML 'diversions' sort of trip.

A fairly straightforward run so far, although a late departure from Sherburn has accumulated a bit. About ten late arriving at Saxilby. Diesel on the rear, but it was expected.

Slow progress in the Sleaford area, but cruising along towards Spalding at about 59mph.

Fantastic image, great atmosphere and light handling. Sadly nothing anywhere close could be captured south of Metheringham as once again no smoke whatsoever from the Flying Scotsman and the predominant noise was the metalwork of the motion rather than the engine working.

Nothing spectacular south of Sleaford. Train ran straight through Peterborough to Conington, and the acceleration suggested some assistance was given to clear the bottleneck before the loop. Currently taking on water, so late departure expected- though there might be an opportunity to leave as soon as the water is topped up.

Well, interesting route through Copenhagen Tunnel to Ealing Broadway. Best part of the trip! Now working my way across London to Alexandra Palace via several pubs.

Here is my photo that I took of this run just outside Gainsborough. And footage of the run

Well, having now experienced it, I can say Ealing Broadway is not really that suitable for receiving a steam railtour, not to mention one hauled by the Publicity Machine. However, after a dash across London, visiting six pubs, I think it was a decent enough expedition.
