Steve bonny lad is a Geordie expression. It means a person has a certain fondness for another person. The fondness can be in different degrees depending on the feeling between the persons involved;)

It now looks hopeful that 35018 will power the York - Scarborough leg of the Southport - Scarborough (originally Whitby) charter on July 5; I'm keeping my fingers crossed !!

I'm guessing you're the lad I was talking to this afternoon. I'll post one of my shots tomorrow.

    .
Reported as 37668+37.516 to York. Possibly steam/steam+diesel from there on. <BJ>

Diesel at the rear to provide assistance. Given what grows in the area between York and Scarborough that is hardly surprising even with the spark arresting and ashpan watering technology of a Merchant Navy.

Unconfirmed rumour that the SSE on Thursday will be as last week - i.e. diesel at rear to assist at key points from York. As said in #77, this is a good time to have a MN up front. Hope that all goes well.

Anyone know yet whether this is the case or not? A friend is in York today on business and has taken his camera in the hope of seeing BIL in the station later. TIA
