The first two departures from Alresford should pass through Ropley wth just a token exchange, the last working stops for 9 mins

The 9F is on the freight and the RAT on Saturday and the Alresford set on Sunday. The Std 4 is on the Alresford set and the Belle on Saturday and the freight on Sunday. The Ivatt is on the Alton set on both days.

92212- 7 Medstead 28072018.jpg Nice shot! One of mine from Medstead this morning. Must say that the gods consist is very impressive. All credit due to the Mid-Hants wagon restoration group for their excellent work. Much appreciated. Andy

Some wonderful sounds coming out of the 9F's chimney today, well worth coming out for, even with the unholy wind conditions, at times. Shall hopefully have a video up tomorrow afternoon :)

Here's my video of yesterday's freight action. Filmed at Alresford, Ropley and Horse Lane. I hope you enjoy it! :)

Today's freight train service with 76017 didn't go quite so well. It seemed to get stuck at Alton and miss one round trip. Not sure what the problem was but it was back up and running later in the day. Caused a few minor delays to the service trains but nothing serious.

Here's my humble effort from yesterday.

    https://www.flickr.com/photos/duty_druid/42808691725/

Its nice to see folks come out to see the fruits of our labour out & about - but I reckon it'd be even better if the weekend was turned into more of an event! :)

Maybe those wizards in marketing could, ahem, come up with the goods next year........ :Nailbiting: :Saywhat:

In other news, I dropped down to Ropley after & had a mooch around - the Urie lads have been busy......... the 4-4-0 has now become a 4-6-0 - So 506 moves ever closer!

And, for the eagle eyed amongst you who come to the yard, you should be able to spot more progress if you look to the right as you enter the yard......... the ULS might be small. but they have big plans!

Definitely picked the wrong day to go out of the 2!
Anyway 2 shots of the Ivatt and one of the standard on the freight. Planned to get more but gave up due to the weather!

    You're a brave man - like the vid, quite Gifford-esque..... :)

Still, it could've been worse....... you could have been down the coast, on the beach.........

MHR News arrived at home today. Great front cover photo by Steve Morley. Also included with this issue is a leaflet confirming the MHR AGM which is to be held on 15th September at Alresford Goods shed at 6.30pm.

According to the loco roster (https://preservation.watercressline.co.uk/stock) it'll be the 9F and Cheltenham, the third service train will be diesel hauled - think 50027 is still out of service so it'll probably be the 33 or the 47. Diesel shunter rides at Alresford have in previous years used 08377, these run with just the light locomotive and from experience have about 10 kids at a time rammed in the cab, all good fun! I've heard that the 03 is to work with the Toad brakevan at Ropley, giving rides alongside Thomas.

Super day out with Thomas yesterday. Hats off to all those who made the day happen. My daughter was delighted along with the family friends who came along too. Great fun enjoying the ride behind Thomas and especially the brake van ride with the 03. She declared Cheltenham was Henry. Ropley was apparently the real Sodor! The fat controller was very friendly despite her sudden stage fright! [IMG]
