The phrase that brings project management colleagues out in a rash is an offer of help from the company. The further up the company, the worse the rash.

Maybe they did and you ignored them.

There seems to be a few people talking in riddles. Casting aspersions that some people are unhelpful to others. Yet without any substance to back up the riddles.

 

It doesn’t matter - it is the offer of “help” from up the organisation that is the thing to be feared.

I think the thing I have most trouble learning on the net is when to be quiet. I'm trying to discipline myself to think "will this post make the world a better place" and if not then deleting it.I'm not sure I'm very good at it (I hope yet), but I think its useful.

That's a bit harsh. In my career, which involved a fair amount of IT crisis management there were two vital roles that senior managers could and when well trained did perform for me in a crisis.
1) Personally reassure other senior executives that everything possible is being worked on so they don't disturb me and my team and
2) order the pizzas.

 

Unfortunately, my experience is that this doesn’t come packaged as “help”, but they just do it. Help, with a capital H, however...

Whats all this froth got to do with Tornado, As far I can work out theres no crisis what needs to be done is or has been done the engines now in the reassembly stage and it hopefully won't be long now before the first pictures are posted of her back in steam moving under its own power

 

Yes lets leave the froth and get back to smoke and steam.
