Correct Ian, a total ban on steam was imposed on the evening of the 25th by dictat of the NR route director for the NW area. The Fellsman on the 26th ran behind a pair of 37s. Following discussions the agreed fire risk protocol was implemented a couple of days later, this allowed steam to run with diesel assistance until yesterday. Let's hope the damp weather persists.

 

Hi everyone,

Going to be on-board with the family on Monday, does anybody know the likely loco (thinking probably the 8F) and if the diesel will remain on the train all day?

Is it likely to be Galatea on Tuesday given its problems last week?

 

UK Steam is predicting Galatea on Monday and 8F Tuesday. Not sure who's got the best oracle.
