That's your tea ration gone, and you have to supply the cake & bickies for the others to consume, whilst you watch. ;)

    I supplied chips Yesterday...
    Well, Alan had three...
And I don't drink tea... which is shocking and should result in instant dismissal! ;)

It conincides with a railtour to Alton operated by his own TOC. I'd be surprised if it had nothing to do with him.

    Buying ale could be problematic...

Anyway. Not wishing to be rude, but perhaps it'd be best to wait until after Friday? I'm sure all will be told that can/needs to be told.

Talking about Triple fff I’m led to believe they now have a pub in Alton anyone been there.

Bloody hell, Lee, keep up - they've had the Railway for years - Pway have been known on occasion to frequent it after a hard days fishplate oiling!

Been past it a fair few times, but never stopped in for a pint.

The date Brexit is enacted will surely be referred to as B-day. Mr H being an arch proponent of exiting the EU, my tongue in cheek speculation was the train might be a rehearsal for a later BrexEx.

Ah, right that B-day! I thought something drastic was happening at the MHR.

After all the rain we had on Sunday I'm glad 73096 is not on the operational roster at the moment because someone is going to have a helluva job pulling it out of that muddy field!

It will be drastic everywhere if we don't stop it happening.

Most Steam Fairs that I have been to usually comprise of working engines, moving and static and other road vehicles. A cold railway locomotive, with tender missing, on a low loader looks to me, if the photos here are a guide, to be most out of place.

I believe that one or more of the engines pulls the loco and low loader up the hill at the site. In previous years 35005, 34007 and 92212 have been to the fair, I expect thre are videos available on a popular internet site showing haulage thus

I always thought the idea was to have the traction engines hauling the loaded low low-loader to show their power.

Well, this isn't going to be a very private event - the freeloader photographers will be out in force for this unusual working. Either way, the Mid Hants will be getting some serious money, given they are shutting the line to the public - and they won't have to run public trains. I highly doubt many volunteers would bother to turn up on Friday if the railway wasn't open to the public anyway.

    Chris,

Cheers for posting the photos. I’ve never been to the Steam fair but I’ve always wanted to go. Looks to be a good event.

I found this photo of 35005 being pulled around with two traction engines plus a modern tractor unit.
