The wheel splashers aren't big enough to put a nameplate on?[/quote:ges26qzo]

Also, wouldn't they rather have 3803 instead of the 4MT? Thereby keeping the stable GWR (and spare parts common?)

Now that 6435 has lost the name Ajax, does that mean that D7535 will be receiving it??

She would look more complete with the silver lining on the front like 5239, anyone else agree?

7827 is struggling with the wet rails today - complete stop between BS and HH viaducts, according to her indoors. Asked her to try and video it!, but hey might have stuck the 25 on for the next trip though......

Yes she arrived at Churston 5 mins late, full load onboard. The first train down the 9.45 was almost empty

OK, going right back to the original question in this thread.
    How about driver experience courses?

You could do a variety, at different prices, passenger, freight, 2 return runs on the line, one return run, 1/2 the line only. one to one (expensive) of groups of 4, shunting and loco turning in Churston yard. Many variations to suit all wallets.
Lots of lines do them, and they charge a lot for them, but despite the cost they seem to be well patronised. Obviously a no-no in peak season daytime. But the enthusiast would visit in winter, when the holidaymakers are nowhere to be seen, or evenings....
Just another response to the request for ideas.

You could launch the idea at the next heritage weekend maybe..... :-k

I'd have go at that, especially firing 5239 or even the Manor. Great idea just not sure if they'll like it due to all the extra insurances etc which need to be sorted I wonder what Tuffer thinks??

I suppose people like a lay-in when on holiday, so 9:45 is probably too early for most - especially if it's raining.

As for 7827 - I am not aware of her ever getting stuck to the point of needing rescuing..... I grabbed the video camera when I got home from work to catch her on the last climb, hoping for a slip (as we had just had a heavy shower) Nothing like earlier in the day, but she did slip a little on the notorious bit of track 50 yds after Broadsands viaduct. The King slipped in exactly the same spot on Sunday, as you can hear in the second video... All good entertainment!
