And the crowds go wild! =D>
Well done to all involved. After so many long years since the last one was scrapped we have a A1 again. Bring on the GCR and let's see her stretch her legs.

She does look amazing, but in the video, the cylinder cocks are not open, most probably denoting that it wasn't 60163's first move... most probably taken a few runs afterwards...

My first thoughts, exactly. But it does signify a whole new milestone, the first completely new build of a major loco. Well done everyone.

Unfortunately Anthony that is incorrect. I have it from a very reliable source who is involved with the locomotive that this isnt to hide the movements from the public, its apparently been requested by the local council so people who are driving past in their cars arent distracted by Tornado's movements. Great to see its finally getting towards the finishing line! =D>

One hell of a milestone reached - and a fantastic achievement. Well done to all concerned, and best of luck with everything to follow. It's the sound that really made it for me, to see her moving is one thing, but to hear the exhaust of an A1, wonderful stuff!

Inspirational too for all the other new-build projects, proving that it CAN be done. I really do feel that now that these guys have paved the way with the A1 and this could benefit the other projects who are attempting to emulate what the A1 trust have succeeded with here.

Fantastic! - and it's proof, if any was still needed, that there is no longer any such thing as an "impossible project".

I can only echo the comments made herein by others; an amazing achievement. From the engineering standpoint alone it is quite a feat (I am sure I am right in saying that this isn't exactly a simple locomotive design!) and I'm sure that Tornado will bring in support as more people see it in action. Having never seen the type in action in BR days it will be quite a treat. I know there are concerns about the remaining costs and we will have to see what the future will bring but, for now, just rejoice.

Absolutely fantastic!!. Only those who have worked so hard on the project will fully appreciate the significance of those short, but confident first turns of Tornado's wheels.
There are not many things anymore that put the 'Great' in Great Britain - but this is certainly one of them. The engineering industry and expertise in this country lives on - and must NEVER be allowed to die!!! =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

Well Done to all that have donnated time and money, really good effort, and top bombing for proving all the doubters wrong!

So what are the plans for the loco now then? As i understand it is being painted into apple green livery with BR on the tender?
Also heard she is moving to the GCR for running in, anymore news on this front as i would love to go down and take some photogrpahs of it in steam, maybe the GCR could do a gala, 'return of the legends' Run Tornado alongside 70013 ole and maybe bring the Scot down, now that would be a gala!!

again well done to all involved cracking effort
    Matt :)
