Was just happily steaming along at 75mph in Pullman comfort...

 

From 16 late early on to 3 early at Stafford. There must have been some lively running. Certainly came past Dordon at a fair lick

 

If Sentinel did Pendolinos .......

I was three minutes further down the line from Sheff and the pendolino came through just before No 9. Strong wind from behind me - so no sound.

 

F1 driver.

 

Watching on Crewe Railcams it looked like No.9 was ready to leave on time at 1401 but was held for the 1410 Euston-Glasgow that didn't even roll into P11 until 1409. Left almost 15 down.

 

Ta for that.

Now enjoying a pint of Barngates Red Bull Terrier bitter in the Old Harkers Arms. A light lunch will also be taken.

Well here's the best of a bad job ..... had to do a rushed camera battery change as I heard No9 approach earlier than expected, which led to iPhone losing video setting, so no video. Then got bowled by a Pendo, and as No 9 flew by got a sharp cinder in my eye, which took 2hrs to get out. Still could have been worse, I had set up on the Up Platform but moved as an LM service was due in

I say F1 driver but that was in the day when drivers would race in other classes too. Can’t remember races at Goodwood when Jim would be driving his GP car in one race and a Lotus Cortina in the next. Things were different back then.

 

One for the knowledgeable: the train has clearly been turned on a triangle as coach C is still far from the loco
