WTT arrived through the post today, looks good! I like that the autotrain and toplights aren't just restricted to between Kidderminster and Bewdley, nice to see them venture out a bit more. And the additional vehicle on the toplights set is most welcome.

Couple of questions if I may:- Do we know which way everything's facing yet? And will FO3083 be in either of the overnight sets? I found it very comfortable last time round. :)

The Q6 blog suggests it'll be in steam by next weekend, so still possible I suppose. Fingers crossed, as I was looking forward to this as much as the Duchess. If not my vote goes for the 5428 in lovely LMS livery too, it looks superb.

Last I saw it was towards the KR end of set M. It's the Bridgnorth end of M which is having 2 taken off.

Yes very much hope it's there as its the main reason for going. Got our tickets and WTT today but doesn't show the code for the sets. Where can this be found. We will be going by train for the first time and the only thing this misses is the breakfast at Kidd, but we have 45 minutes at Moor Street.

By the way try putting in journeys from Soton to Kidd and you will see why the current fares system and the cause of that the Franchising system is completely broken.

I think the centenary lounge at Moor St does breakfast. The coffee is good when I've had it.

Apparently not running to increase passenger paths and due to there being a dedicated goods gala earlier in the year. Shame an early morning/late evenings off peak goods couldn'tbe squeezed in.

It's a shame but logical, especially on the weekend when trains are full.
I have seen people at Highley unable to board trains and having to wait an hour as a goods takes up a diagram.

I am more annoyed that Eardington Halt only appears to be open between 10am and 4pm.
Sitting on the platform with a bottle of wine and something to eat in the early evening as trains slog up the bank would have been terrific.
I assume that accessing the platform when the station is not staffed by volunteers would constitute trespass.

The Q6 blog for Monday says "The intention is to get 200 miles of successful running in completed, in the light of which a decision will be made about whether it goes to the Severn Valley or not for its Gala over the 22/23 September weekend. If not, the NYMR has a Plan B agreed with the Severn Valley".

    Plan B? Eric?

Would prefer J27. Or Eric. The last guest at the WSR Gala the week after is also a std 4 tank.

I suspect the J27 alone is underpowered for the duties now rostered to the Q6 at the gala though it would look interesting paired with either Pannier or the 14xx. Will the NYMR be able to release any of the Whitby certified loco's at this stage of the season (and a week before their own gala)?

I fear that only leaves the 4mt tank already rumoured as being the 'plan b'. Unless you want a Class 26 or 37 ;)
