Just a quick question. Has anybody laid floor covering other than traditional linoleum in their vehicles.
I am thinking of vinyl flooring such as Polyflor or similar. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Personally, I doubt if the usual "domestic" thickness of vinyl flooring would be sufficient, however "contract" standard material might be adequate.

There are a few non-slip types of hard floor covering, such as used in hospitals and other heavily trafficked retail and industrial places. It is not cheap to buy, but it does wear very well and of course helps minimize the risk of passengers and workers slipping. I am not sure of the quantity you need but if, for a relatively small area, - not a whole railway carriage floor - a good flooring specialist often has remnants on offer which of course would be at a reduced price.

I have seen Tifflex treadmaster TM4 6mm used in Some MK1 vehicles. We have also used it in LNER stock. It is a mixture of natural rubber and cork granules.
They also produce modern transport flooring.

I've used non-slip vinyl but I failed to find any wider than 2 metres and am told you can't get wider so it will probably need welding.

Any joints in such types of flooring need sealing - or welding. (Unless it is a hatch, of course.)
