They are but hardly something special or new for the main gala of the year. Unless there is a need for an additional loco from outside of the SVR I’d save the hire fee and use one of the homefleet.

How many Whitby certified locos are there currently? 76079 and 61264 for sure. How about 45428 and 926?

926 is as well - saw it at Whitby last week. Not sure about 5428 though it has all the required gubbins fitted.

Update = just seen 5428 on its mainline test today (with 928 on the rear) from the Grosmont MPD page on Facebook

I seem to recall the B1 missed the SVR's spring gala this year, so surely that would be the most appropriate replacement? I agree that if the only other option is a standard 4 tank, I'd rather they saved a few pennies and used another of the home fleet. J27 double heading with the pannier would be fun though!

According to the SVR event leaflet online, Eardington Halt is open from 9am to 6pm each day.

To get us in the mood for the weekend, no.70000 has been out on test this week, and in this shot, she is captured opening up across Falling Sands Viaduct.

Yes, as the SVR doesn't do platform tickets and only events like Santas and 40s have restrictions on the platform to ticket holders only.

I may be mistaken but it might actually have not been repainted at all - I doubt there's been time! I'm just grateful it looks like it'll make it.
