She was making a nice racket working up the bank to Medstead last night & after the 'fun & games' there earlier in the evening it was a nice sound track to listen to!

Missed "The End" Headboard - didn't stay that late as I was knackered & needed a beer.

Nope - I had some Broadside waiting for me, which soon met a swift demise! :)

She was making a great noise today too, some great miles traveled today enjoying her last trips

Here are her footplate crew posing for a few shots after taking her back on shed for the final time.

Although my regional preferences are more towards lines with a strong William Adams influence, I think Black Fives are fantastic looking engines, so having 45379 close by on the Mid Hants has always been a pleasure, especially as she's always seemed to go pretty well too. There are plenty of engines at Ropley I'd like to see back in service and only so many needed at any one time, but I certainly won't complain if 45379 is back before too long.

Here she is in one of my favourite shots... might even be a little appropriate for the occasion.

Having read the notice about it issued to staff, it certainly sounded like an interesting event.

    Note for anyone attending the MHR Open Weekend by SWR;
SWR have reduced services tomorrow due to RMT action and there is a bus replacement service running on Sunday due to Engineering work.

As its Open Weekend, guess what - the Wagon Groups fund raising sales stand will be open for business on the up platform at Medstead, also the 'World Famous' (?) yard tours will be open (for a donation) on a turn up & go basis (I think..... well they have been of late.....) - you may even be able to phot the passing trains for a place not normally accessible to the public, if you time it right ....... and rides on the Queen Mary Brake are available on the Freight, for a donation. :)

80150 will be on display in the CAT siding opposite the station car park at Alresford also ...its normally hidden from public view , so have a look at what the volunteer crew have done for her looks ...

Richard Bentley and the gang have put her at the head of a rake of coaches and she looks for all the world like she’s ready to leave for Winchester. Just brilliant.

Yes indeed but they do go equally well bunker-first. Do go and have a look, we’re very proud of the old girl.

Ah, so they've shunted her that way - I did wonder - bet that was a 'fun' experience!

I'm sure you're proud of what you've achieved & so you should be - it's been a while since I've had a shufty down the headshunt & remember only too well what she was like when she 1st arrived.........

Great to see 80150 from the car park today, very smart. The railway should be very proud of their dedicated volunteers.

We had an excellent day at the MHR today. My Mum, Dad and I really enjoyed ourselves and we were fascinated by the guided tour at Ropley. Great to see so much work going on at the Railway.
Nice to see 80150 tidied up at Alresford. I snapped up one of the very nice 80150 polo shirts from the friendly folks on the stall at Ropley. I am tempted to buy a woolly hat at the Gala!
The 9F was very impressive on the freight with some very spirited non-stop passes through Ropley. Also good to see 45379 and 76017 nicely set up for pictures in the yard.
The excellent timetable also allowed us to travel on all three passenger services behind 925, 41312 and on the Thumper.
Thanks to everyone involved for a great day.
