My friend drove past a locomotive at Creekmouth over the weekend. It appears to be a Finnish. Has anyone got any more information on the locomotive?

I used to drive past that loco every day, to and from work, when it was based at The Enfield Timber Company!

Indeed. There was a whole batch (About 10?) of them imported years ago. Some ended up at Epping Ongar for a while, others in Cornwall. I beleive that one of the bigger locos was restored and run in someone's (large) back garden.

Initially they all ended up on a farm in Acton, Suffolk, (near Sudbury) and I certainly visited that location on what I think was a public open day at the site back in 1992. One of the locos was in stam on a short length of track at that event as well.
David Buck, who owns "Mayflower", I believe is the person who currently has a working one in his back garden....

Yes, David Buck's garden railway at Fifield, near Windsor. Guess his B1 is too big!

I remember those days, I've got it in mind that the proprieter of Enfield Timber was the owner of the loco's, but not the site. The late Kim Malyon had checked all the leading dimentions, clearances etc, and determined that at least some could be re-guaged from 5' to standard by means of purpose made off set tyres, however the loading guage was something else. I understand that the owner was at one time involved with the Epping Forest Railway, later The Epping Ongar, certainly some stock was stored at Ongar and an early piece of engineering by the EOVS involved re-laying about half a mile of track to 5' in order to clear Ongar station site

The date I went there was 4th May 1992, which appears to have been May Day Bank Holiday Monday that year, our trip visiting the site at Acton and the Mid Suffolk Light Railway at Brockford, which was in its very early stages then. - travel being provided by a 1947 Bedford OB coach!
Loco 1151 was the one in steam that day - carrying an "Enfield Timber" headboard - and, apart from the Finnish locos, there were a number of unrestored elderly commercial vehicles stored there as well.
