Due to unforeseen circumstances it looks like I'll be in the vicinity for this weekend so a visit on Sun is on the cards. The two locos I'm most after are 46100 and 63395, which I think are running on that day. Any idea what times either loco will be leaving Kiddy?

    Can't wait!

You are correct, both engines are schedueled to run on Sunday.

    According to the Working Timetable,
46100 is down for the 12:25pm departure.
63395 is down for the 10:40am and 17:03pm departures.

    Hope this helps,

    Adam

There's also "The Inn Plaice" - 100 yards down on the same side as the station.

I like the museum it is an atmospheric place to be at 3am in the morning with cup of tea surrounded by the old tick tock of the clocks and such like, it is also a useful escape and sanctuary from the snoring of your fellow passengers.

Always the diner at Kidderminster, it you want to fill yourself in the morning.
Also a cracking curry place.. But not sure a vindaloo is a good idea on the overnights. .

The weekend is off to a somewhat damp start; Visiting Q6 63395 plods uphill past Eardington on it's first train this morning.

Most of the past twenty posts have been more about catering arrangements and food outlets rather than steam locomotives. Sounds more like a 'foody' fest rather than the 'gala of the year' described by one magazine. :D:D

More a case of so much going on that timing a "meal break" is much part of the planning as the actual train journey(s). :Caffeinefix:

No way that Capt Cod's output could qualify for anyone's "food fest" !

Sorry no news on the catering front but Friday proved to be an excellent day in terms of locomotives and workings.

All locomotives appeared to be working well and all trains running within a few minutes of the timetable.

Photography wise the weather was difficult due to the gusty wind and showers but when the sun shone the light was excellent …..especially on the odd occasion when a train appeared !!

Most preserved railways would have been grateful to have just one of the three guest engines at their gala but the SVR has triumphed yet again.

The Duchess looked superb in it's new stunning livery and it was good to see Britannia in action after a lengthy absence. What a beast.
The LNER Q6 made a pleasant sight …..and the sound of that whistle, just wonderful.

All in all an excellent gala. Let's just hope that it'll be a financial success, it certainly deserves to be.

Many thanks to the SVR and the various loco owners and societies. <BJ>

An excellent day yesterday, very well organised - classic SVR. Duchess looked amazing and Royal Scot was dismissive of 8 carriages and 'dead' 2857 out of Bridgnorth. The Q6 was excellent up Eardington, very noisy. Very nice to see Britannia back in action too - it really is a stellar line up this year.
It was a quiet start but the trains certainly filled up after Friday lunchtime, along with an improvement in the weather. By all accounts Thursday was very quiet, I hope the forecast doesn't spoil tomorrow - it has been a tricky year already passenger wise. The trains will certainly be the place to be, rather than on the lineside!
