It is always interesting to watch the updates. Good group of locos.

1 think depending on where 6233, 60009 and 60103 get placed shall be a large factor.
    2. Can a B1 go to Stranrear? Even though Black 5 normally do that leg.
    3. Doubleheaded Jubilees on the S&C?

    It is early.

It reads as though it's been through Google Translate, doesn't it? Maybe the original article was written in Dutch? :) However, I think there's a separate thread for the A1SLT's series of Aberdonean tours next year, so maybe that's the place to take this topic further...

Apologies, but living in Germany, I'm not totally up to date on the preservation scene.

However, I understood that John Cameron's number 9 would be out of ticket this back-end, to be withdrawn, stuffed and mounted.

Can someone put me right on this please?

The reversal at Taunton should be achievable in platform 2 which is bi-directional and the only platform from which trains can be signalled onto the WSR. It could also reverse in Fairwater Yard and still access the WSR

I've just had another look at this. The website says "You’ll journey from Somerset and Cornwall ...". Presumably this is another instance of RTC's annoying habit of copy-and-paste from one tour to another, as the details of the route include nowhere further west than Kingswear.

Edit: having checked the map, I see that Newton Abbot is actually slightly further west.

Guess so, RTC seems to excel at paying as little attention to its advertising as possible as well as publishing the most speculative of intentions well before much if anything has been remotely confirmed. The firm doesn't have much excuse either because omissions and errors are regularly brought to its attention.

If they had a daytrip option with first class then I would for one day's trip but unfortunately they havent so I cant afford it.:( I did ask RTC a while back if they would consider offering people the chance of going on it for a daytrip with standard class coaches or even for first class but they obviously wont be offering this. If id had the cash at the time I would've done that daytrip run from Scarborough with Scotsman, British India Line & the 2 jubes Leander & Galatea.:(

Does anyone booked on this have additional information yet about the finer detail? Thinking specifically of which locos are rostered on which leg and whether there are any tweaks to the itinerary? We do, of course, not yet know whether the Aberdeen turntable will be up and turning by Easter.

For those that are on Facebook recent updates on the Ferryhill Railway Heritage Trust website indicate that the approach track was laid before Christmas and a further video on the 8th January showed it (supposedly) being manually turned for the first time.

Link here if anyone hasn't seen it yet and has a faceache account:

According to the dates of 60103's operating schedule this year, http://www.flyingscotsman.org.uk/events/scotsman-on-the-tracks/, it will be doing the last day of GBXII.
