Just reading the latest L&B newsletter. At the last AGM, it is reported that that Peter Miles was reelected as trustee and director by 377 votes to 1.
    I wonder who that 1 was?

It is very impressive, but can they assemble an MFI kitchen unit, that sorts the men out from the boys.

What a lovely endorsement of Peter Miles.

I love the 'can do' atmosphere there. I have it in writing in a book that the L&B will never be restored, too many impossible obstacles. But they are doing it. Wonderful.
I have subscribed to two of the share issues, and hope that you will too. (Lastly the acquisition of Blackmoor Gate station, still open). This deserves to succeed.

Latest view of No.5, with both the cantrails now fitted, so the whole assembly is now held together top and bottom. Fitting of the roof hoops starts imminently:

Is anyone in the know able to provide comment on why chelfham station has been closed indefinitely?

I think that, the website statement "due to unforeseen circumstances...... By Order of the Railway Board" without clarification is only serving to set hares running.

It's an internal matter, and as soon as the L&B Board have it sorted, I'm sure the restrictions will be lifted, and the website notice updated.

Idle (or even informed) speculation will not be helpful at this stage.

martyn,as you're a moderator on exmoor ng,do you have a reason why my post about chelfam has been removed when it wasn't derogatory and the trust themselves have made it public knowledge that the station has been closed to members of the public/volunteers

This isn't Exmoor NG buddy - just PM Martyn or contact him through another means. This isn't the place for airing these things in public

Although censorship is not a good way to resolve issues, deal with the problem quickly and fairly then move on.

What is it about this part of the world with internal disputes, I have no idea what the issues are, but it seams to me that the way these things are being 'sorted' ? with such vague public announcements (the one on the railways website) just escalates the problems and leads to the speculation we've seen so many times on that other railway not far to the north from Woody Bay. Must do better . . . .

Not arguing for censorship, just don't think it's appropriate to air disagreements from another forum here...

There seems to be a lot of axes being ground around Woody Bay, most from the outside of the tent peeing in it seems.

I personally don't have any problem with the announcement about Cheltham, but then I don't desperately crave the instant gratification of having all the facts, and rather am happy to wait for the information to come out when it is appropriate

Andy, Yes I have a reason. The situation has been explained to me. I have emailed you. All that anybody needs to know at the moment is contained in the official announcement. There is no more I can say, other than that it is an internal matter for the trust to resolve, which they will as soon as possible. Thank you to you and all for your patience and consideration.
