One question, it say Arriva Trains Wales and DBC wish to re-run the excursion, as of the beginning of October Arriva no longer run trains in Wales! Guess they mean Transport for Wales? Either way not sure I will take the risk again, will probably lineside and use my credit note on another trip, or make a last minute decision once 45231 is properly tested and see if there is late availability.

 

Doubt it will be TFW. Expect DB will run it through their Charter Train Unit.

 

I did wonder about that. Is it perhaps that the company will still exist, even though no longer as an active TOC?

 

I was beginning to feel left out, but my card was finally credited today. Fair play, as you say.

Might consider doing this as a 'saving grace' after the Chester Chuffer shambles last December.

 

I'll try again for a run down the L.N.W. heart of wales route maybe with 45231 with her airbrakes installed. Let us know when booking opportunity crops up. South Wales is a place I still want to go on a steam excursion.
