No report on Braunton since it’s move to Norton F. Anyone know if it has run?

Thanks for the info. The diesel leg appears to have been diverted via Copy Pit, presumably to Carnforth. Do you know what is working the steam leg?

 

I understand it will be the 8F. Yes diversion info I had passed on was "Wakefield Kirkgate, Healey Mills, Brighouse, Hebden Bridge and Blackburn to Carnforth"

 

8F was in steam at Carnforth yesterday evening.

 

This is for the move of 6233, not 44871.

A short video and a photo of Union of South Africa on its way to the Bluebell Railway, in bright sunlight, crossing Riddlesdown Viaduct.

 

I'm wondering why it went tender first. The associated speed limit can't have helped fitting it on part of the Brighton main line.

 

There is no turntable at the Bluebell (yet) so it had to be tender first either to or from East Grinstead. Locomotives on the Bluebell mostly face north, so tender first southbound was probably predictable.

 

I hadn't realised they still don't have a turntable. One would think it would have become higher priority once they gave up on trying to fit in a triangle at Horsted Keynes.
