I guess that makes sense. Clearly, the carriage shed can't go on the proposed station site as it would obstruct the running line!

Engine shed will become a museum , Existing platform space becomes carriage shed and a new station built alongside the museum. Most passengers are arriving by road and are of a demographic where a short walk from coach to shop to facilities to train works most nicely !

being cheeky can we get a Dukedog and Manor back in the museum ?

To answer a couple of queries, yes the current platform space will be used for carriage storage. Should the Carmarthen line scheme be progressed there is scope for a second platform face in the current Aberystwyth mainline station.

The walk from the mainline station to the new platforms will be only slightly further than at present however the facilities will be greatly superior and more accessible for the needs of visitors.

There are still plans for the London Bridge roof - just taking one step at a time!

The roof will cover the former platform space I had assumed.

Are there any plans to restore their names at some time? Whilst they look impressive, to a casual visitor they will just look the same (I know people say that about all GWR locos!), whereas the names will give them individuality.

Can anyone confirm if the railway will be running their local residents discount event again this February? No mention on their website at the moment.

Thanks for your replies everyone, I will certainly take a look at the newsletter and will most likely use the offer - it's a spectacular journey during the winter. I am surprised the locals offer isn't being run again as it seemed to attract a lot of first time visitors, but I am sure there are good financial reasons for the change.

In the latest VoR newsletter, it mentions a 'Forgotten Engines' event on 14-15/09/19, with 3 engines which haven't been seen by the public in years. I am looking forward to attending this event, to see which locos they are!

Visited yesterday for the steam festival. A dull day weather wise but great to see the 3 engines lined up together in steam and very interesting to look around the workshops.
