    Getting back to the 'Spirit of Christmas', I can't praise WCRC enough for all their efforts yesterday. The staff were superb and looked after us splendidly. Was great to have steam both ways over Shap but the highlight for me was to witness the expression on my grand-daughters face when she clapped eyes on Santa for the first time! She's only 10 months old I know, but it was a lovely moment! I finally got my Son to ride mainline steam with me for the first time too ( lost him to football when he was about 9 y/o)! Happy family day all-round.

    There have been conflicting reports as to which route. Shap or the circle? Now seems to be 10.45 ex Lancaster over Shap.

    This weekend has always been advertised as Shap by the WCR web site and UK Steam afaik. It is only next weekend, the final one, that is round the circuit.
