Santa managed just fine last year without the Blackburn stop.

I was hoping that in light of the stop at Carlisle this year it was an opportunity for the kids to see what was hauling the train (as round the loop that's not possibly unless joining at Carnforth) but that would need a platform face instead of a loop stop.

Ultimately its irrelevant in the big scheme of things sure will be a canny day, be nice to get BIL but suspect that the 8F will get a run out!

Yesterday there was a long but orderly queue at Carlisle with children of all ages  wanting a quick visit to the footplate.

Maybe so that the train does not have the same headcode twice at Lancaster. AN

Again it doesn't really matter in the big scheme of things, but it did last year, plus when we have the RHTT and NWMT round up and down the WCML and round the cost they go through Carnforth 3-4 times with the same code so not sure it can be that?

Can us other punters be told a bitmore about Ribble's book please? No need for you to be so modest, others of us might enjoy it as well!

Peter, on a dull December day in Manchester

Okay Peter, seeing as you asked ! It's called "The Kyle of Lochalsh and Far North Lines",a collection of steam and diesel shots I have taken on those lines over the last 40 or so years. It's published by Amberley at £14.99 but can be obtained a bit cheaper direct from them or from Amazon.Hopefully it will be available from shops on Preserved lines for those who prefer to buy books there.End of Commercial !

Most trains seems to have "destination" and hence a return on circular tours these days. The Belmond Surrey Hills trips all have one code to Shalford and one back. The rerouted tour on Saturday did the same but to Oxford Parkway and the Saphos tour did on Saturday using Burnley as the headcode change point.

Is this Sunday's WCRC Santa back to running the original route? (Lancaster Hellifield Blackburn Preston circular)

Also suggested that 48151 will be up front.

Both the above reported else where on other web sites.

Can anyone confirm any of these details please?

    Thanks

We have had email confirming timings and includes p/u from Carnforth so looks like going round the loop. I suspect it will be the 8F purely as gives her a run out and the route doesn't need the speed capacity of BIL.
