16/12/2018 - LMS "8F" 48151 at Billington foot crossing at the start of the climb up Whalley Banks heading for Blackburn and eventually Lancaster with a Santa Special

 

Very nice, seeing the weather definitely not the day for landscape shots

 

an hour later at Houghton on the climb at the foot crossing and getting a little dull - pushed the iso to 2500 for this one

 

A couple from today featuring LMS 8F No.48151.

 

We had a good day out on Sunday, possibly not as good as 2017 but I suspect that depends on the Elves in ones carriage, plus a lot of the things for the kids seemed to be in a strange order (feeding the adults way before the kids, only giving the kids activity books around Preston on the way home etc) but we will no doubt be signing up again for next year.

As for the motive power, being in Coach C and thus near the back, combined with children and carols playing, didn't really hear a peep out of the 8F all day but she did the job and that's really the only purpose on such trains?

Oh and PS they actually had to turn the heating down in Coach C and the windows were entirely clear of condensation so looks like the 47 was doing its job well.
