Presumably they could do a partial boiler overhaul and apply for a further 2-3 years extension, as other groups have done, unless the boiler is in poor condition. Maybe that's why it is at Crewe?

Crewe/Bury aside, the engine has lost an engineer. A highly commendable one!!! One that will never be replaced! Not by a long shot. My Thanks go out to our engineer Roy Kerry whos years and sleep-less nights have made Lizzie run like a dream with the help of the squad of course! But as I used to say to him, "How are you Roy?" He'd say "I'm ok if the engine is ok!"

I do wish he would re consider and also Simon the "Pipes and Wires man" also makes sure the engine has a working pump, TPWS, OTMR etc, that IS HIS FORTAY! I myself also comtemplate my position as a working volunteer, but time will tell and we will see what happens.

The engine still has has warm blood, but needs the dedication of those still with it to make sure it gets hot again! Hopefully sense will Prevale!!!!!!!!!!!

That is all I can say at this point in time.

    Rich

Really?, strange that both yourself and Clive are 'management' at the Heritage centre?, go on, lie and say that your own wishes were not the only consideration when you swayed Lizzies comitee to leave the engine at Crewe agains the engineers wishes?, anyone can polish a loco or light a fire in it, you just aint got a bleedin clue!

Once again please leave the Crewe Heritage Centre out of what is solely 6201 society issue.

Mods please can we lock down what is now no more than a name calling thread?

    Yes i can

A full list was released in last weeks Crewe chronicle and im led to believe will be published in the latest upcoming railway magazine

outlining the recently elected 6 new trustees on top of the 5 existing ones

So you may all look in your own time.

    Thankyou for that!

A search reveals, not suprisingly, that Mr Colin Worall and Mr Clive Mojonnier are indeed TRUSTEES of the Crewe Heritage Trust!

I rest my case ma lord!

    Selfish individuals with ulterior motives.

    Not at all Polisher

I am not however an official spokesman for the Heritage Centre and do not wish to tread on toes stepping outside official press releases, as previously stated its all publicly available information.

You sound from your posts that your a local person to Crewe so why dont you go and dig out the "Chroni"?

That is as much and as far as im prepared to post on the matter futher.

This is a thread about Lizzy and not about taking pot shots at the museum that locomotive is currently stood at (could just as easily have been Bury). Please can we get back to the locomotive.

Funnily enough she is the one and only locomotive that I have ever bothered to capture on film…. So glad that I made the effort now before she gets stuffed.... idiots! ](*,)

Aye, I don't what it is about her but she is the only LMS I have ever bothered going ou of my way to see. One of my fav memories of her was seeing her at SVR steam gala a few years ago.

So - at the end of her ticket the trustees have elected to place her in their choice of preservation venue as they always said they would.

    What is your problem?

You don't like the decision - well get off your fundamental, raise about three quarters of a million to buy the loco and then about two thirds of that to overhaul her, then assemble a support team to maintain her and manage the paperwork, compliance, storage and million to one issues that go with a loco.

Then we will respect you - until then I respect, but regret Clive and the others'decision to do what they always said they would at the end of her ticket - right from when she came back in 2002 - retire her gracefully.

They have kept to their word that's all.

  20.
