    Doubt it; there were a couple of self-weighing tenders fitted to Stanier Class 5s in normal service and this appears to be one of them; given there is no tank wagon I doubt it it is a Weedkiller train. The single lamp on the smokebox is for an Ordinary Passenger Train (i.e. local Class 2 service) and it appears to be coaching stock only hence a Shrewsbury - Swansea service methinks

    In which case I thought Wigan Springs Branch; it was the trackwork in the bottom right (to the local colliery perchance ?) that confused hence the initial thought to be Kingmoor.

    It is Springs Branch and the trackwork to the bottom right is the start of what was known as the Tyldesley loop line.

    As the view is from January 1969 I would expect the loco to be one of the standard Classes 5 4-6-0s - possibly 73069 which I believe was one of the last survivors during August 1968.
