That's three now, according to that report yet we have , nor are likily to see any fly in the country that made them, the UK, Is there any reason why one that's been rebuilt ( some are new builds ) could not be registered on the CAA

There is a group planning to build a new one mostly in Britain here http://www.peoplesmosquito.org.uk/

There is actually 4 now flying I understand, the 3 re-constructed in New Zealand and also another original one restored to fly recently in Canada.
Considering that for decades there was none flying that is really nice to see. There is another original one in America belonging to Kermit weeks that could fly again but hasn't for many years.

Great news. Thing is there are about 30+/- survivors, though some are little more than the metal parts what with most of the planes being built from wood. So in some cases' should they be restored to flying order they'd be pretty well new build aircraft...... Not that I'm knock/condemning any such plans. As has already been mention, Oh! to have an airworthy DH98 based here in the UK.
