Sorry to read this. I really feel for John Cameron and hope a way forward that pleases him can be found.

 

Not surprising though given the access to the site. I’ve got mixed feelings as I would like to see both engines with an operating future but at the end of the day they belong to JC and it’s his decision what to do with them

 

Nowt wrong with keeping them down the road at Boness.

 

You’re assuming there is space for them!

 

Mentioned this a while back, easier to build a shed to house them, and more people get the chance to see them, a double attraction.

 

But he doesn't just want to display the locomotives, he wants to display farming machinery as well.

 

The farm machine could be displayed as wagon loads, it has been done elsewhere.

 

I think it's machinery in the plural. I believe he has quite a collection.

 

So not do a deal with the railway, and make 2 attractions at the same place, does it application mention an entrance fee????

 

As Andrew has mentioned above, all well these thoughts but has anybody actually considered the available space at Bo'ness to host an enlarged museum which would also include farm machinery?

 

Don't know the area well, but how about using a station as a destination for the museum, everybody then benefits.

 

Every railway needs a destination IMO. OK, they all go somewhere but with some the "somewhere" is nowhere in particular. A museum would be a good destination.

 

They do have an excellent museum adjacent to Bo'ness station with a variety of exhibits including Gordon Highlander, Maude and the Great Marquess. There also seems at present enough space for a bespoke shed.

 

Quite to the contrary, the biggest space on site is already earmarked for a new, purpose built, steam locomotive overhaul building.

I understand that there is a possibility of a boiler cert extension to the end of the year
