If - and it's a damned big if - 60009 has an extension to the end of the year, it does raise the prospect of appearing alongside 60007...

 

I think it unlikely that 60007 will be ready this year.

Read their updates and see just how much work is still required. Spring 2020 much more likely.

There isn't. It actually came out in a conversation with one of the overhaul team.

FWIW there is mention in SR received today of some manner of link up/agreement between the 60007 team and Saphos/LSL, not read the detail bar the headlines yet but an interesting development none the less?

 

That's all you had to say initially. Not aggressive at all, just asking for clarification, as I had not read a 2020 date anywhere on either the trust's website or 'Chime' magazine.

Could make sense. The SNGPT is struggling for active members and a tie in between the two charitable trusts would be acceptable to the Charity. Comissioners, should that be decided as a way ahead.

I don't just think its that. If that were to be the case, then Saphos would be operating the two A4s that are available, when Bittern follows Gresley back into traffic. That's greater for shared footplate crew knowledge of a class and operations for support crew.

Again, they seem to have a great crew at York doing the overhaul, and are looking for new support crew members, according to Chime.

I for one, love the fortnightly updates, thoroughness of the overhaul, and also the writing of a document to be passed to future generations.

Maybe their is something in the link up with Saphos, may it restrict the lines that they can operate on???

 

So is SNG going to be transferred to LSL? Is it official?

 

It's not being transferred, it's just a contract as to who will operate it when it returns to traffic, same sort of agreement with 45212 and Ian Riley.
