I mean, the TVR O1 (if it were running) would be a fair swap... We need a few nice pre-grouping things up the MHR! :p

    Hi all

Pictures on the Facebook page (open access) of 0-6-0T “Jennifer” arriving from Llangollen as this year’s standby loco to “Welsh Guardsman”.

    https://m.facebook.com/TheGwiliSteamRailway/?tsid=0.8330611699663713&source=result

Meanwhile the boiler of 0-6-0ST “Moorbarrow” has been removed from the frames and has been sent to the north of England for repair. 0-4-0ST “Olwen” is also progressing steadily with the frames being stripped and painted and we are also getting stuck into the construction of the loco pit in the shed.

Also not forgetting TVR28 which sees regular work parties, which can also be followed on the TVR 28 Facebook page, again open access.

    Regards

    Matt

Merlin left the railway a number of years ago. Do you you mean Moorbarrow, if so she is out of service after her boiler ticket expired.

Merlin left the Gwili in 1988, had various residences after that but is now at the Telford Steam Railway. Currently under repair I believe.

Thanks Matt. I sorta remembered that Merlin had left but didn't recall where s/he was now. I remember Merlin fondly from the early 80s

Well it's farewell to all my friends at the Gwili as I've now moved over to the far side of England (which would mean a six hour drive to visit...)

I will be keeping an eye on you from a distance though  (you don't get let off that easily! :p :))

The KESR is one of the most friendly Railways I have visited in recent years.
