Just wondering if this Crewe to Stewarts Lane on Friday: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U53065/2019/02/15/advanced could be Braunton for following day's Belmond Surrey Hills trip?

I know all that, just wondering what it was likely to be, assume not steam else it would of been mentioned on here, and as it's being run by Tyseley, not West Coast, it must be the 47?

It should be 34046, 70000 if the Bulleid is not fit to run following further repairs. Expect another Crewe-Chester General-Crewe test run in the next week.

Interesting. Has 70000 hauled the VSOE/Belmond Pullmans in "modern times"?

Yes, it was 12th October, 2011. I filmed the train at Keynsham on the return. It was going like the clappers (naturally) with 13 on. <BJ>

I assume in the terms of passenger trains 1xxx is an up train and 2xxx is a down train, no idea what the letters mean as we seem to have all manner of letters on the Coast trains?

It was 47.773 today on a Tyseley - Stratford run and a Tyseley to Worcester run. It had 5 coaches in tow. <BJ>

No ! 1xxx is an express passenger train whilst 2xxx is a stopping passenger train; more to the point is that the ECM used to adopt even numbers for trains to Kings Cross and odd numbers for trains out of Kings Cross for a short period but AIUI current operation uses consecutive numbers for services.

Yep, towed by 37669, Tornado plus support coach 35 early at Tollerton.

Will be interesting to see what TOC will be listed for the next test run.
