Doesn't appear to be anything on this one as yet but East Lancs have announced second guest at this gala to be Caledonian tank 419 making her first appearance at the ELR. Other main guest is standard 78018, together now with GWR tank 4270, and the rest of the home fleet.

    Biggest line-up since 1998? I was only 8 at the time but I seem to remember 42765, 2 black 5s, a standard 4MT, 46441, 52322, 1450, 60007, 76079, 62005 and one other loco.

When will the timetable with locomotive allocations be likely to be available ? Thanks in advance for any help.

Interesting looking timetable, I don't remember anything like this pattern before, and freights on Sunday. Looks like KWVLR is going to miss out this time.

I don't know about that. Their gala's looking pretty good too. I'd like to do both but I'll probably just do the KWVR.

If you can't make the effort for this line up we might as well pack up and go home......

What's the point in making comments like that?

I could say the same about yours.. The ELR gala line up includes both new and unique locomotives which you are unlikely to see again on the same railway. Whereas the kwvr gala is basically the home fleet with a green Ivatt that's been around the block thrown in. It's an easy choice for me I'll be spending the weekend in Lancashire .

Other than 419 it's pretty standard stuff and Bahamas is bigger news than the standard 4MT. I don't like the cynical way the ELR is doing business at the moment and I don't like the idea that the KWVR is going to "miss out". At the end of the day the ELR just isn't the KWVR and I reckon I know which line the majority of enthusiasts prefer but, then again, that isn't the ELR's priority. Is it?

Okay it's my fault for saying the KWVLR may miss out (for me) in view of what ELR has announced, so hand bags away if I say I will go on one of the days to Haworth! :D
Bit of bad organising though (on both parts), with two premier lines having the major events on the same weekend (geographically so close), a bit of chat might have given a better chance of higher visitor figures for both lines if different weekends had been chosen.
As the big green snow plough is back at Buckley Wells any chance of it being added to the line up I wonder?
