I gather a coach was moved from the K&ESR to Woburn Abbey in the week before Christmas. Does anyone have any info on this please? Presumably it was going for an event rather than a permanent move?

 

If that is what I think it was, I'm not sure we're allowed to comment yet!

I love the luxury of those Maunsells.

I helped to creosote that boarding, in the winter, and still use the hat with the creosote on it

 

Derailment on the Kent & East Sussex Railway - Loco 32678 ‘sinking into marsh and may have to be abandoned’.

But don’t worry - that was in 1949 ! 70 years later, 32678 is happily in service on the K&ESR and you can ride behind her this week from Tenterden in Kent.

Bodiam Begins!

32670 will be leaving the K&ESR this morning by road to Norfolk for the start of its overhaul. It is expected to pass through Tenterden High Street mid-morning.

Some photos of it on its way would be useful.


Graham Hukins from the Terrier Trust will be posting later to publicly launch the restoration appeal announced to staff and members at the staff/volunteers evening a short time ago.

I was down at Bodiam for a dog show Saturday, and had to run up to Tenterden to go to a cashpoint , whilst I was waiting at Rolvendon crossing I noticed a blood & custard Mk 1 in the passenger rake, has the railway started repainting its Mk 1's in an authentic ( for Mk1's) livery at last?

 

Yes. That’s the plan as they go through works.
