After your 0-4-4T gala are you planning a 4-4-0 gala?

 

I hope the "567" Victorian Steam Locomotive New Build will be ready in time!

 

The timetable will be the same but backwards, of course

 

What would be really nice would be to have the 4-4-0T gala ...

The J50 group have posted on their FB page that they are shutting down and that funds will go the the P2.

A sad development, but a kind gesture by them. It was quite illuminating reading newbuildsteam.com the other day: they do not pull their punches over some of the other new build projects. I know we've argued the toss over this many times here but I genuinely don't believe there are enough enthusiasts out there to support all these projects to completion.

 

What funds?

I presume the money raised towards building a J50?

PoW 2007 - see a couple of posts back.

 

After that I suppose you will want to hold a 4 - 0 - 4 gala as well.

 

I feel that idea has insufficient drive...

Had they actually raised any funds? Was under the impression the J50 group were just a facebook page. Or am I misinformed and being unfair? If so apologies.

 

The J50 and J39 proposals were perhaps the best LNER ideas but neither group had much substance. Great for preservation. Not like the P2 white elephants. Still, a Hush hush and Garratt will get the funds too.

 

What about this 0-4-4T? Wait, no, 0-4-2-2-0T. No, that can't be right either. 0-si(2)x-0T?! Bloody Belgians!

 

I suppose you could have an 0-2–0-2-0WT gala... (Bloody geordies!)
