Granted, hopefully it's all just speculation. A big loss either way to not have DB operating her.

Has anyone been able to identify who's driving and firing?? Has been said many times that Tornado is not on West Coast's Books and an acceptance process takes time - or does each company now accept the mainline status granted by each other?

I read a statement elsewhere that Network Rail will not release times for the tour until the test run is confirmed as a success.

Back to 7029 again, here's a photo of her from yesterday around 5pm, seen resting at the blocks in Birmingham Moor Street with her train for Worcester, while attracting quite a lot of attention. This was really the only decent photo I managed to get of her sadly, although the video footage I managed to get of her as she passed through the Hawthorns sounded pretty good. Here's the link to my video of her from last night:
    Enjoy :)

Looks so. As was the move to Wensleydale. I think there will be a lot of froth and magazine articles written on the fact that these are happening, when actually the detail and reasoning behind the issues and perhaps resolution of previous stances would be much more interesting to know - but given WCRC and the A1 Trusts lack of detailed statements only a select few will know. I think that is justifiable for both parties but still perhaps might be better to make a statement that future operations together is now possible.

Nice still. Looking forward to the video. Seemed to be flying earlier. What was your estimate of the summit speed?

Well she has arrived at Carnforth and the ECS to Doncaster not even out of Steamtown as yet (if RTT to be believed) so the speculation can really begin!

taking a step back , if WCRC and A1ST are working together that surely can be considered good news . In theory it adds another class 8 to the WC pool and brings more work in for 60163 which after a year off the main line should be welcome

I would also not write off DB's involvement with Steam . It has been good to see them providing drivers to other TOC's to allow us to enjoy main line steam . That is something we should applaud and long may it continue. We all benefit through collaboration of all the players

I agree fully agree there Martin,
Having spoken to a driver from DB last year while at Birmingham Moor Street, it turned out that DBC had been providing assistance to LSL and now also VNTL. I'd like to think it will continue.

I've heard several reasons why 60163 ended up on DB's books rather than WCRC's but does it matter if they have started working together? Surely we all want the same thing... to see steam on the mainline.. right? And long may it continue, whatever these next few years throw at us with this DEFFRA & Brexit lark. Hopefully steam will continue through both of these.
