It would be hoped that there is a statement that can be put in the public domain rather than the endless speculation that will result if nothing is said

And what about folks like me, a former WSR volunteer and, briefly, a WSRA trustee, who is now unable to be actively involved, having moved away? I am still trying hard to view the WSR in a positive light, but this is difficult when accurate information on the current situation is not forthcoming. Surely the PLC should issue a synopsis of the points covered at the meeting?

In any case, with over 300 people there, whatever instructions were given it wont be long before information begins to get out. Far better for the PLC to issue their own statement first.

It is good to hear that level of unanimity; it would also be good if some of what was said - the vision, rather than the detail - were made public. It might even gain further support.

There are also people locally who gave over 40 years helping the railway, who for one reason or another decided to leave but still have the WSR at heart.

As a shareholder I will be very disappointed if the PLC do not issue at least a private precis of the meeting. If I hear / see no communication from the company perhaps it is the time to move my attention elseware.

Just think..... Across Somerset or England or the UK or even the World, worried enthusiasts are pressing their browser refresh buttons with unprecedented fury - desperate for any morsel of news (good or bad) - wondering should I go to bed now or wait for that first tantalising glimpse of what may or may not have been told to the select few today.

Seriously, I hope that today was a success for the Railway as a whole and will be a step forward for everyone involved. I think it would be useful for someone in authority to put out a brief summary of the positive news, which might help long distance supporters to see progress taking place. I wish the railway well in its recovery.

I seem to recall that it was double track at that point when the crossing was installed and the second line, which was in effect a long siding towards Dunster, had to be cut back and stopped on the Minehead side of the new link road.

I will repeat my earlier comment. What about the shareholders who do not follow social media? They are still blissfully unaware of any problems. Come on plc a statement is well overdue.

Of course if there isnt a public statement, that will give all sorts of opportunities for speculation. No doubt there will be some who know what was said & who may wish to put their own spin on it, those who have a good idea of what was said ditto & the rest of us who have no idea of what the situation is & have to listen to the resultant froth

Sadly this seems to be the policy of the current regime. In view of the joint board meeting I would hope there would be a public announcement today or tomorrow.

I am a member but could not attend the meeting and have no idea what wa said. Is there two tier membership - those who can get to meetings and those who cant?

I can understand why the management might want a meeting but as @threelinkdave rightly points out there are many that cannot attend but who need to be informed reasonably soon
