Personally, I would leave this TT as is. OK, the double-headed tanks may not look as pretty if they are bunker to bunker (and even less so if they are smokebox to smokebox), but we’ve seen stranger combinations in the past.

    Cheers for the info,

I assume this means 80080 will be Rawtenstall facing then? Is 419 likely to be the same?

    Cheers,

A true Austerity would suit the freight much better ?

Can someone confirm if the loco allocations are going to change or not and if so, when, are they likely to be published ?? TIA for any help.

Anyone confirm, please, which way 419 and 80080 face, and if 80097 still faces south (away from Rawtenstall)? Thanks.
Weather is not looking too good for the weekend, more riding than watching probably.

Thanks for the compliment, weather looks better (on paper!) for tomorrow, but a bit grim for Sunday:Grumpy:.

Definitely not a morning for straying far from shelter! I gave up at lunchtime, so the whole line is probably bathed in sunshine this afternoon! Great event...well done ELR.

A good gala, although today's timetable has proved that those railways which choose 'boring' timetables for galas probably know what they're doing! Currently trains are running over an hour late after significant delays caused by trying to force too many trains through the Bury - Ramsbottom section with no slack or recovery time in the timetable.

Everything has run well so far but ultimately I've had to do less travelling than I would have liked because otherwise I would have missed connections home.

419 at Ramsbottom heading to Rawtenstall now well over 90 mins late .
Hopefully all copies of today's timetable will be inserted in the shredder and not repeated .
Too many trains in the middle section but too much sitting around on stationary trains .

Well we had a good day out despite the weather and the timetable. Probably inevitable we spent virtually all day shuttling between Ramsbottom and Bury but once we got the hang of the timetable and delays we managed to not sit on trains that couldn't leave too often. A great range of locos, possibly one or two too many? Loads of double headers which were great and still managed to enjoy some excellent solo runs with 419 and 78018. And I managed to avoid 4270 all day! :) Thanks to all who had a part in today's proceedings. KWVR tomorrow!

Its not the timetables fault, its the volunteers inability to keep up to it.

The same volunteers, without whom, none of it would happen...timely or otherwise!
