Britain's newest steam locomotive is finished at NBR Engineering, Darlington

'Otter', a 2' gauge copy of a Bagnall Sipat has been finished for its new owner today. It will be trialed in the next few weeks before delivery.

At present the owner does not want to be identified so please do not ask.

The next new build, a replica of the Southwold 3' gauge locomotive 'Blyth' is underway with its boiler due to be finished in April. Another new build is in advanced state of discussion for a 2022 finish assuming funding is achieved.

Otter is the Twin to Georgina at North Bay. Frames cut and delivered on the same day in July 2013. Different gauges 20/24” and finished 3 years apart. Bit like a frozen embryo.
