What was the diesel unit that had a fuel leak at Garstang was it a old pacer unit on the Leeds Morecambe service or was it a T.P.E. 185.

Or to Heysham/Morecambe from Leeds via Carnforth and Lancaster first I meant I went on a service train to go on a Santa special from Lancaster in Dec 2017 and had to get a early train from Leeds and it went on to Heysham after Lancaster.

After a very good lunch at Yorkshire Fisheries, reccomended by 60017 in "Chippies we have known" thread, and a ride on two Hertiage trams, one a open top single decker, an enjoyable trip behind Leander followed, with some lively hill climbing followed by a noisy run down the West Coast mainline. Thanks to all those involved.
While the steam mileage might be shorter than some trips, I think this a more enjoyable trip than the Cumbrian Coast Express, now that no longer has steam leg over Shap. With the steam attached and removed in the platforms and a longer break at the destination this is a far better day out. I hope the one later in the year is well loaded, so it run again in the future.

Alas the sun didn't play ball for Leander yesterday leaving it as the slightly more unloved tour compared to the S&C action, but she sounded good climbing Giggleswick bank. Incidentally there was a nutter who decided to trespass on the line to get his shot just behind about the 4th coach, what possesses people to think its a good idea, especially right in front of a large gallery?

He walked the whole of the lineside embankment from the crossing, constantly stopping every 50 yards or so, he firstly came up top with anyone else before letting everyone know that he preferred the shot from the other side due to the wind ! Irritating for me as he I cant photoshop him out of the video.

Yes agree with that. It was a very good day out starting with seeing three Charters together at Crewe and then trams at a very cold Blackpool with a ride to Pleasure Beach and back on 701 and finally a good solid performance from Leander. Even VT excelled on our 1902 Pendo back in Euston 10 early well over an hour before our Charter. Can’t believe Failing Grayling has excluded Branson from bidding for the WC franchise. A very high class operator who has increased passenger numbers from 15m to 40m since 1997. Anyway yes a repeat please RTC
