Thanks John, its from a drone, that would be a mighty big hill :) I must have been a couple of gardens up, they are very accomodating on that close :)

A couple more from yesterday, the rediscovered Markinch viaduct and the mighty Culloden viaduct after an often wet chase up Drumocter and Slocd.

Also from today, accelerating away from Inverness along the Dornay firth, and at Invershin viaduct.

Really looking forward to the Kyle run tomorrow, forecast looks reasonable but you never know up here!

Highlands at its most spectacular, crossing Invershin viaduct, Carbisdale Castle looking on a wonderful view across the Kyle of Sutherland.

Just a few shots from myself over the weekend, several more to work through! The splash of apple green in the Highlands has been rather pleasant, and I think anybody who was out on the Kyle line would agree it's been possibly the best weather experienced for steam since perhaps 2010?

I'll second Jonny's comments about the weather, best I have ever seen up here. Not every shot worked out, a sizable gallery at Attadale missed out as the sun dipped and the loco shut off, and the annual gricers race to Achnasheen was somewhat disrupted by gawping motorhome drivers and cyclists, but I'm sure everyone went home with some real highlights.

A couple from me at Loch a' Chuilinn and Erbusaig.

Marathon day from Inverness to Fort William today, all credit to the crews involved and the passengers for what could easily be the longest non return steam hauled trip.

From what I've heard, a very mixed day weather wise for those by the lineside. Due to work, I opted in for the afternoon from Gleneagles onwards, and we were well rewarded in the West Highlands with enough sunshine between the mass of hazy sky.

Nice shots, the climbs from Rogart and Achnashellach not to everyone's taste of course were exceptional.
Looks rather like bus to Carnforth and steam from there tomorrow.

Great work! Falls firmly into the 'wish I'd taken that' category!
