if you are wanting a streamlined MN, why waste money on 35029 when there's a viable project to support and already aiming to produce just that with 35011?

that's the sort of Museum Speak I have come to hate. If that's the case, then why aren't there guards fitted to every preserved railway platform?

This thread is about 35029, you muppet/troll. How unpleasant to deride others former efforts.
The streamlining is far more classy on a MN than a BB, and 34051 remains in drab BR green(in this case)
It's merely a thought, and yes it had perspex or glass around, it clearly looks better in motion.

Given the money constraints that the NRM seems to be under this seems like a bad idea. The current section is an excellent strip down.

Whoa, whoa, whoa remember forum rule no.22 only GWR locomotives all look the same, if you debunk that piece of classic banter (read tedious crap!;)) loads of bandwidth won't be wasted, but certain posters will not have something to post in every bloody GWR thread! :D

quite clearly even GWR locos of the same class do not look the same. However I fail to see how a MN looks more classy than a BB. Allowing for the quite minor size difference, they definitely all do look the same, this goes for rebuilt or built.

Apart from early variations while they settled on a final design, the air smoothed casing on an MN is virtually identical in appearance to that on a BB/WC so I fail to see how one can be considered classier than the the other. I'll agree with you on 51's livery though.

If you Google the images are like comparing a A4 and B17 streamliner. The faring is a beautiful smooth curve on an MN covering all the pistons and a much smoother curved continuous appearance that was all green. The front profile is also very different. It's just we haven't really seen it in most of our lifetimes. Not sure the nrm is broke, it can do all sorts of impressive projects

Isn't it more that spam tins were square sided, whereas corned beef tins were a tapered more streamlined profile. The real difference becomes clear when you open them up...
