Yes but no times yet. Does the DL stay behind at York?

As you say, no times yet, but it is running and it is normal for the DLs to remain at York. After the current rain this week there should be no fire risk at least for the start of the season.

Those are very long loop stops in Holgate loop. 70 mins on the outward! 40 on the return. What's the view from the train window like there? I-spy could get quite repetative...

Last year there was a long stop at Preston, this appears to have shuffled down the line to Holgate... The return loco change of 40 minutes is not too bad, but there are still pauses at Preston and Lancaster which to say the least are very frustrating when so close to home. What makes it worse is that it's for freight workings.

That photo is just a slight bit out of date.

Next week's later departure from York is due to having to follow the current TPE Class 68 training runs which involve a LE move at 12.00 from York to Scarborough. I expect this will happen all this season.

Agree not very scenic but the photo is a reminder of the variety of traffic and traction which was once an everyday sight here. I'm ancient enough to remember when the freights would have been 9F or anything else steam hauled, followed by some big shiny and green "namer" every few minutes, or so it seemed. I'm not sure that TPE 185's and LNER's finest carry quite the same excitement?

The first of the 2019 'Scarborough Spa Express' services from Carnforth to Scarborough, hauled by LMS 5XP No.45699 'Galatea' on the 20th June 2019.

Seen shortly after leaving York Station at Bootham and on the return at Howsham.

Sod's Law at work with a vengeance.

The sun went in a few seconds before I saw smoke and it came out again as the carriages were passing. According to the time stamps the cloud was over the field for less than a minute. According to RTT the train was a minute early!

Morning shots against the (sun) light but evening shots of ECML quite good. If stewards allow photography from window then good shots to be had from train (between 3rd / 4th coach) as train leaves loop and as train curves onto Scarborough line at York
