Where will it likely rejoin the ECML? (Unsure of routes up there)

You wouldn't know it by looking at the chimney but "Tornado" was working really hard here.

Looked tremendous with the Pullmans though.

Numerous routes--- Shaftholme or Marshgate Jn maybe. It's going to be a late one at KX whatever RTT says.

Thanks. Tornado Railtours have just put this post up on FB.

⚠️ Please be advised that due to multiple points failures north of Doncaster, Tornado and ‘The Yorkshire Pullman’ have been diverted via Castleford and the Wakefield area. It will therefore not run on the ECML between York and Doncaster this evening.

Lovely shot Stuart and surely the most powerful and effortless steam loco running. The Pullmans bring back memories of the Tees Tyne Pullman leaving Newcastle

A fair amount of chaos on the ECML, but worse northbound than southbound. Looks like an Edinburgh and a Sunderland--KX to overtake at Loversall Carr, then should get the road c 1935.

A few southbounds cancelled because trains still heading north. That will help them.

Whilst I think that Peterborough may be a stop for a crew change, there is nothing to prevent the loco running non stop to PBO and then non stop to KGX if the path is there and the crew think it's possible without taking water. That will suit the crew and DBC is good at renegotiating paths. If things go well the passengers may be in for an interesting time for the last 76 miles or so. Let's hope so.

At this rate I think @Spamcan81 will get some night-time peace and quiet for his recording.

    It's on the move now.

Away from Newark now and next following southbound showing as delayed and has not yet reached Doncaster so possibly a fast run south now for Tornado.

The RT prediction from earlier was before the problems north of Donny happened. What a mess ☹

The fact that it spent half an hour on the turntable didn't help. They couldn't get it to move at first, and when they got it going the crew had every man on the job, giving it their all and even then the speed of rotation was painfully slow.

It reversed out of the station then pushed the stock back to the platform, then came back out with the support coach. After dropping the coach off it ran across the turntable to be loaded with coal from a wagon with a Hiab & clamshell bucket (15.14). Once that was done it ran back onto the turntable to be turned. By then it was 15.36, not leaving much time. It took more than ten minutes and a lot of effort to get the turntable to even begin to move and as long again to turn the loco. By the time it left the turntable it was 16.01. Its planned departure time from Scarborough was 16.00 so it was already down when it left the turntable.

    This photo timed at 15.55.

Nearest southbound behind Tornado left Doncaster 3 minutes ago, but signalling diagram shows Tornado put on the up slow after leaving Stoke Tunnel.
