Also "Food and water ran out and paramedics had to board to treat a woman who had collapsed." If the paramedics could get onto the train, why couldn't the passengers get off with appropriate assistance?

 

A couple of paramedics trained and kitted to access difficult places, as opposed to several hundred random members of the public with unknown mobility and wanting their luggage? I don't believe the railways handle emergencies well from the passenger point of view, but they may just have been safer aboard than disembarked - certainly until there was somewhere to take them to.

Has Galatea had a coat of paint looks slightly different colour?

 

Looks like a full repaint, tender too.

 

If you check my post #1166 from last Thursday I would suggest a good clean, 10A surely couldn't have managed a full re-paint in such a short time

 

The rumours were circulating that she was to get a repaint in a different colour?

 

Now that's just wishful thinking...

 

Why would the dome and top feed still look black if it had ?

Understood, but sometimes the precautions to avoid one risk (in this case, possible problems with disembarking passengers) serve to exacerbate another risk (in this case passengers suffering from dehydration or possibly non-availability of toilets).

 

Perhaps. But I don’t envy the controllers having to determine those trade offs in real time with limited information. And I’d still be willing to consider that the former risk was greater than the latter.
