We normally do just a shame the predicted forecast of torrential rain perhaps played a part .

Yes a lovely shot and finish but you clearly haven't seen Clan Line up close and personal to know that there is a difference! ;)

That's probably one part. Whatever happened to cause the 1049 not to overtake at Skipton could be another. And there was quite a bit of disruption on the WCML so maybe Control wanted the flexibility at Carlisle. Let's hope it was just a one off.

Different version of 35018 at Kirkby Stephen with the sound now correctly in sync.

Tuesday's trip from Chester is now outbound via the WCML, return via the S and C. Steam Carnforth--Carlisle--Preston. The problems at Hellifield are clearly taking time to resolve.

Either I wasn't paying enough attention (quite possible), or it's changed since I looked from a stop at Appleby to a stop at Hellifield. I'm fairly sure the latter.

The old paths have also disappeared from RTT since my earlier post. They were both in for a while.

I also saw the path with a water stop at Appleby and none at Hellifield - makes more sense now.

I think that one reason they used to top up at Appleby was so that the loco could then get back to Carnforth without delay, once off the train at Hellifield. With this route, a top up at Hellifield will probably get the loco back to Carnforth without needing a further top up.
    Only my thoughts....
