I don't know why some people have got so wound up over the name of the train. Over the years I've been on trips marketed as the ACE - never reached Ilfracombe, Plymouth nor Padstow, the Flying Scotsman - train got nowhere near either London or Edinburgh, The Royal Wessex - train went from Carnforth to Sellafield rather than London to Bournemouth.

The name of the train is nothing to do with WCRC, it would have been chosen by RTC as your promoter

On our way after a stop at Grosvenor Bridge/Stewarts Lane Jn. Disruption coming in and out of Victoria (Brighton side) at the moment due to the derailment of an engineering train.

BIL checked approaching Winchfield but the assembled crowd were treated to a glorious sound as she accelerated through the station and away to Basingstoke, switching back to the fast just after the station. Will try and get the video up later.

There must have been a few passengers at Isleworth who wondered what was going on with two steam trains in quick succession! Perhaps a few hoped they'd have one to go to work!

4 minutes apart, at Ashford. Both named with a nautical theme, line astern!

But it did seem to make a lively fist of BAS to SAL and get from London to SAL before taking water.
