I know there have been rumblings for some time about the continued use of slam door stock on the mainline, but it seems the ORR are now setting deadlines for action such as retention tanks, central locking and strictural integrity testing, or is this simply more speculation?

    Eg...

I would be inclined to wait until its reported by a more specialist outlet in less danger of missing the point. As for the window bars thing, I am sure that the DRS Mk2.s we had for a while on the coast had barred windows so it cannot really be a surprise to anyone?

It is almost exactly the same wording (including identical garblings) in both accounts, which suggests the work of a news agency. No mention of "heritage" railways as such but a clear indication that they will need to keep noses clean where safety is involved.

Odd ..... I accessed the Torygraph article (via Google) with no issues. Some sites seem to throw the paywall in your face once you've exceeded a certain number of articles per day/week (or whatever) and that particular publication isn't one I access too often.

Must admit I didn't try to access this particular Telegraph article as I'd tried previous ones and been met with a request to subscribe. Maybe I try to look at too many of their stories...
