The lower plates in front of the wheels are quite easily crunched when loading on to the low loader with a steep ramp. Not saying that happened here but I've seen it happen elsewhere.

I meant the yellow plates right at the bottom, a couple of inches above the rails. Looks like it ran over something.

The brakevan in the LMSCA is continuing having its roof tarp/sheet put down and they are on going with the other welding /panelling and refurbishment on the carriages that were in the shed which the class 37 has temporarily took with all the repainting

Mr Civils industrial loco is looking more complete with the cab metalwork going back together but it’s be a few years yet before she’s ready to run.

This is a great little video of attractions along the Derwent Valley, including transport wise Peak Rail with cab ride (authorised), Heights of Abraham cable-car, Cromford Canal, and Crich Tramway Museum. plus Leawood Pumping Engine, all done on foot in 'hyperlapse' mode so you have to be quick to spot everything, well done that man on a really hot day! I don't think you need a Facebook account to watch it.

    Permanent way

The gang have been sleeper replacing as well as linesiding and also fishplate replacing down red house cutting. The timbers for extending road one out the back of the shed have been drilled and are starting to be fitted into the old put road

    Locomotives

The class 25 is on with electrical
Works, the class 37 is looking better now the first coats of topcoat are going on

    S and t

We spent today fixing the pulley wheels down under the box at Rowsley and then helped shift the self adjusting weight gear upto the shed to have the mounts and weights made different so we refit them external to the cabin with much reduced weights. That way they can still be used in the system without making it to heavy.

    Wagons and coaches

A couple of the coaches are having some tlc on the external sides and the brakevan in the lmsca has its new tatted roof on and fitted just awaiting the final
Coats of sealer. The inside is nearly done too

Middle of the summer holidays seems a curious time to hold a gala. I'd probably finally get round to making it from Sheffield if I wasn't at home for the holidays!

I guess it's a direct replacement for the 40s weekend which isn't happening this year but is always on the second weekend of August. Great news about Sherwood Forester, an LMS loco at last. I understand it is an 'intensive two-train service' with freight train as well, and not a specific timetable. We're working hard to get some more coaches ready for the event.
