    I wonder if Network Rail have asked WCRC to inspect the line for further slippages, possibly taking some of the P-Way team as instantly a quicker method than by road (of which many sound to be flooded).

    MN18 presently sat on A road with support coach, train set on platform 1 awaiting diesel loco from 10A to take train to Carnforth then across to Hellifield then onto Leeds/York.
    2 diesels now arriving.

    Are the passengers still on board? I ask because Carlisle - Carnforth - Hellifield - York feels to me like at least 2.5 hours by a direct route and it's getting late......I'd bet that the train goes straight from Leeds to York and Wakefield/Normanton folk make their own way from Leeds.

    Where would the passengers be? it's back to Carnforth then Skipton the first passenger stop of several before Leeds.

    National Rail have tweeted that they expect disruption until 13:00 tomorrow and in the meantime trains will reach Ribblehead and then buses will be used Ribblehead to Carlisle.
