Of course. Like it! [If still baffled - I was to begin with, try to think of a well known person called Jeremy ---]

Anyone know what happened to the DMU??

Worth pointing out that the 115 has a very much higher seating capacity that 3 MK1's

    Would have helped if either/or:
1)The load three had included a TSO rather than two SKs and the buffet/brake with effectively twelve seats (buffet staff sat in 4th bay on last train).
    2) Hymek had run round at Minehead leaving steam to run with longer train on last train.

    To be fair:
It was the vestibule where the toilet had been taken out.
The guard found me a seat after a couple of stops (that odd single one in the buffet - someone must've gotten off).
There were spaces in compartments if I had wanted to squeeze in, but as a commuter I have enough of doing that going to work... A little personal space on holiday is nice!

    We're playing reverse-I-Spy aren't we.
That's the version where everyone knows the right answer, but tries to give everything except the right answer. The person who gives the right answer looses!
It's much more fun than the other version. :) ;)

That sums up any WSR thread on this forum TBH. Whatever *is* happening, we get loads of suggestions about why it shouldn't be happening or how it could be done better.

That could do with an obscure picture and then go on the Picture Puzzle thread. In the absence of that, please tell.

    It's an easy one @MellishR
To give you a clue it goes:
    East
    Central
    West
    Cross
    Four
    Two & Three
    Cross
    West
    Central
    East

But we're getting off topic again ;)

Dragging it back on topic, were there any more carriages that could have been used for the Diesel turns? Or was that it for stock (I didn't quite work out if there were 3 or 4 sets out).
I was on the 12:26 from Doniford to BL and it's return leg to Minehead and there were no spare compartments / bays due to only being load 3.

If it were 4 sets, I can fully understand being at the stretch end of available stock.

A side note - a big thing has always been made of the Edmondson machine at Dunster and how it supplies other railway's with their tickets. To me this is always part of the experience.

To get just a paper receipt, like you would for buying loo roll from Tesco, from BL's booking office Saturday morning was very disappointing. I don't even mind paper card type tickets with photos on etc, that's nice. The only worse railway in terms of tickets is probably Llangollen with their bus type tickets.

I went to the Dean Forest Railway yesterday and they still have 'proper' tickets, as did the East Somerset when I visited in July, two tiny lines in comparison.

It's a small detail but this is England's longest heritage railway.

Card tickets are definitely more expensive, the vast majority of passengers dont care what ticket they get and its probably easier for accounting purposes, not much of a choice in these straitened times
